A holiday message from Phil Smith the President/CEO Of the V.O.A. Here at Volunteers of America Western Washington, the holidays are a time of generosity and giving in Snohomish County. We are grateful for the outpouring of support we receive this time of year but in the current economic environment the needs of families and seniors in our community continue to rise. This year we have seen an increase of 14% of food bank users. We now serve over 5,000 individuals each month at our Everett Food Bank. 50% of that population is children, 20% are seniors. The needs of families and seniors in our community are greater than ever. This is the time to work together to feed our hungry neighbors here in Snohomish County.
